This is skilled professional library work managing the
daily operations of the Court’s law library in Pinellas County. The person in this position serves as advisor
to the Chief Judge, Trial Courts Administrator, and the Pinellas Law Library
Board of Trustees on emerging trends in legal research, controlling library
costs, and effective public service efforts.
The person in this position spends a significant portion of the day
providing one-on-one reference services for library users, including attorneys,
litigants, and the general public. The successful candidate must also work
independently as a solo library practitioner and manage the day-to-day
operations of the library, including budgeting, purchasing, requisition,
maintenance issues, etc. All work is performed under the general supervision of
the Trial Courts Administrator or his/her designee.
· Bachelor’s degree in library
science or information systems preferred.
· Two years of work experience
in library operations or conducting research.
· Knowledge of the legal processes involved in each section of the Court System.
·
Knowledge of
business and professional relationships and ethics is involved among courts,
judges, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies.
· Knowledge of the principles of administration, office
management, system analysis, and computer applications.
· Ability to work effectively in a cooperative atmosphere with judges,
attorneys, constitutional
officers, and administrative staff functioning within a judicial circuit.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally
and in writing.
· Ability to maintain
attention to detail.
