ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 2011-002 PA/PI-CIR
RE: PROFESSIONALISM COMMITTEE
On or about January 9, 1998, then Chief Justice Gerald Kogan of the Florida Supreme Court requested the Chief Judge of each judicial circuit to appoint a Circuit Committee on Professionalism charged with the overall responsibility of initialing and coordinating professionalism activities within the circuit and to assist the Commission on Professionalism.
On or about January 14, 1998, the Sixth Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee was established.
The Sixth Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee recognizes that the Bench and Bar of the Sixth Judicial Circuit have historically maintained a high level of professionalism.
In order to reaffirm the Sixth Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee, and
In order to reestablish the membership of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee, and
In accordance with the Chief Judge’s
authority under Article V, section 2, Florida Constitution, Rule of Judicial
Administration 2.215, and section 43.26, Florida Statutes, and in accordance
with The Supreme Court of Florida’s Administrative Order In re: Commission on Professionalism, dated June 11, 1998, it is
hereby
ORDERED:
1.
The Sixth Judicial
Circuit Professionalism Committee (“Committee”) will continue to operate in the
Sixth Judicial Circuit (“Circuit”).
2.
In accordance with The
Supreme Court of Florida’s Administrative Order In re: Commission on Professionalism, the Chief Judge of the
Circuit will serve as the Chair of the Committee.
3.
The following are
appointed to the Committee:
a.
Pasco Administrative
Judge
b.
Pasco and Pinellas
Appellate Division Administrative Judge
c.
Pinellas and Pasco
Family Law Division (including Unified Family Court) Administrative Judge
d.
Pasco County Court
Administrative Judge

Division Administrative Judge

Pinellas Criminal
Division Administrative Judge
h.
Pinellas Probate and
Guardianship Division Administrative Judge

Public Defender

President of the
Clearwater Bar Association, or his or her designee

President of the St.
Petersburg Bar Association, or his or her designee
m.
President of the West
Pasco Bar Association, or his or her designee
n.
President of the Young
Lawyers Division, Clearwater Bar Association, or his or her designee
o.
President of the Young
Lawyers Section, St. Petersburg Bar Association, or his or her designee
p.
President of the Young
Lawyers Division, West Pasco Bar Association, or his or her designee
q.
Dean of Stetson
University College of Law, or his or her designee
r.
Such others named by
the Chief Judge of the Circuit, not to exceed five, for a term not to exceed
three years.
4.
The Committee will
perform all responsibilities established in The Supreme Court of Florida’s
Administrative Order In re: Commission on
Professionalism, dated June 11, 1998.
In order to fulfill those responsibilities, the Committee will:
a.
meet quarterly to
discuss the status of professionalism and professionalism activities in the
Circuit;
b.
issue an annual report
each January to the Chair of the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism;
and
c.
on a periodic basis, offer Continuing Legal Education courses
on professionalism.
This Administrative Order rescinds
Administrative Order Number 2011-001 PA/PI-CIR effective immediately.
