RE: AFTER HOURS PROCEDURES FOR DATING, DOMESTIC, REPEAT, AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE INJUNCTIONS IN PASCO COUNTY

In order to increase operational efficiencies and due to continuing budget constraints, the regular hours for obtaining a dating, domestic, repeat, or sexual violence injunction in Pasco County must be modified. When litigants arrive at the Courthouse after 4:00 p.m. seeking an injunction, it usually results in overtime expenditures for the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Sheriff of Pasco County, and increases operating costs for the county, because staff and the judge must remain after 5:00 p.m. After consulting with the Clerk, the Sheriff, domestic violence advocates, and other stakeholders, it was agreed that it would provide greater efficiency at less cost to use the existing after hours procedure provided in Administrative Order 2007-33 PA/PI-CIR beginning at 4:00 p.m. on regular work days. Accordingly,

IT IS ORDERED:

1. Effective August 18, 2010, for purposes of implementing the after hours procedures for dating, domestic, repeat, and sexual violence injunctions in Pasco County, after hours means after 4:00 p.m. or before 8:30 a.m. on a regular work day, or at anytime during a holiday or weekend day.

2. Anyone appearing at a Pasco County Clerk's office seeking an injunction after 4:00 p.m. on a regular work day is to be informed of the procedures to seek an injunction after hours as provided for in Administrative Order 2007-33 PA/PI-CIR. The petitioner also must be advised that the petition can be processed the following business day.

All other terms and conditions of Administrative Order 2007-33 PA/PI-CIR remain in full force and effect.

DONE AND ORDERED in Chambers at Clearwater, Pinellas County, Florida, this 13th day of August 2010.
