Dear Judge

Your letter of March 9, directed to Chief Justice Carlton asked for advice and opinion as to whether you should accept membership on the Board of Directors of County Alcohol and Drug Council, Inc. The question raised by you was promptly forwarded to the members of the Committee on Standards of Judicial Conduct.

A majority of the committee are of the opinion that it would be proper for you to accept a position on their Board of Directors. This opinion presupposes that the demands on your time and probability of conflicts of interest are not substantial.
