Opinion 80-7
June 10, 1980
Dear Judge:
This is in response to your inquiry as to whether you may own stock in a
travel agency that is being purchased by your wife. You also inquired as
to whether it would be proper for you to purchase tickets from the agency
while you are on official business of the Court.
The eight responding members of the Committee on Standards of Conduct Governing Judges unanimously stated there is not impropriety in your ownership of stock in the travel agency and there is no impropriety in you purchasing tickets from the agency while you are on official business of the Court.
Yours truly,
James T. Carlisle, Chairman
Committee on Standards of Conduct Governing Judges
