ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 2010-002 PI-CTY
RE: APPOINTMENT OF COUNTY JUDGES TO HEAR
LOCAL ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS AND MISDEMEANORS AT SATELLITE LOCATION
In order to assist in the resolution of local ordinance violations and
certain misdemeanors in Pinellas County, and
In accordance with Article V, section 7, Florida Constitution, Rule of
Judicial Administration 2.215, and section 43.26, Florida Statutes,
IT IS ORDERED:
1.
Each county court judge of
Pinellas County is authorized to conduct court proceedings at a satellite
location in St. Petersburg, Florida at the Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N.,
on Saturday, January 30, 2010 and at the Salvation Army Red Shield Lodge, 310
14th Ave. S., on Saturday, February 27, 2010.
2.
Said judges are authorized
to hear any local ordinance violation case and any misdemeanor case and thereafter:
a. to accept a plea,
b. withdraw a warrant or capias and set the matter for subsequent hearing,
c. otherwise dispose of misdemeanors with the consent of the
State Attorney and defense attorney, and
d. otherwise dispose of local ordinance violations with the
consent of counsel for the local jurisdiction and the defendant.
Said judges may exercise this authority regardless of the section to
which the case is assigned.
