In order to modify the functions performed in section P and the schedule for matters in section P, it is hereby
ORDERED:
1. Section
“P” shall include the following:
a. Arraignment
hearings on Notices to Appear. Hearings
shall be held Tuesday
afternoons at 1:30 p.m.
b. Local
Ordinance Violations and non-criminal payable infractions. All such
The assigned judge may amend the above schedule only with
the approval of the county criminal administrative judge. The judge assigned to section “P” may also be
assigned additional matters as the need arises.
2. All law
enforcement or code enforcement officers in
Notices to Appear are
directed to:
a. Issue Notices to Appear for misdemeanor
violations returnable to
Courtroom 15,
b. Issue
Notice to Appear for Local Ordinance Violations or non-criminal
payable infractions returnable to Courtroom
15, Pinellas County Criminal Justice
Center,
c. Provide copies of the Notices to Appear to
the Clerk of the Circuit Court within 72 hours of the date the notices are
issued.
3. The Clerk of the Circuit Court shall:
a. Assign Notices to Appear among sections E, F,
G, H, & L of the county
criminal court using a rotation system,
irrespective of a defendant’s previous
placement in a section.
b. At each arraignment on Notices to Appear
maintain a list of pre-trial dates for
each section of the county criminal court to
which matters not disposed of may be
scheduled.
c. Continue to use a multi-part form, which can
be used by the court to provide
notice to the defendant of subsequent
hearings.
Administrative Order No. PI-CTY-02-06 is hereby rescinded.
