Library Services and the Collection
Reference Assistance

While Law Library staff may not give legal advice or interpret information contained in legal resources, staff are willing to help patrons locate statutes, laws, regulations, cases and other legal materials.

Court Forms

The Library has a number of form books to find appropriate legal forms. If you desire to represent yourself (Pro Se) in a family law issue, Family Law forms are available for downloading from the Sixth Judicial Circuit's web page.

Photocopying

Coin-operated photocopiers are available in the library. Copies cost $.15 per page. The Library has bill changing machines and Venda Card services. Venda Cards cost $1.00. Microfiche reader-printers are also available for printing cases in microfiche.

Fax

The Library staff will send or receive faxes at the cost of $2.25 for the first page and $.25 for each additional page. Staff may also use fax to obtain materials housed in another Pinellas County Law Library for in-house use by patrons.

Typewriters

Patrons are welcome to use the public typewriters at each location to complete court forms and legal documents.

Internet Service

Public terminals at the library provide access to the Internet and to the Libraries' Online Products for legal research.

Florida Bar CLE Audio Cassette Tapes

The Law Library has CLE audio-cassette tapes that may be checked out by Florida Bar members to acquire CLE credits; please see the Librarian for the procedure.

Print Collection


The Pinellas County Law Library contains a comprehensive print collection of legal materials pertaining to Florida Law and Federal Law. The collection of legal materials includes:

      • State (Florida) and Federal Statutes/Codes
      • State (Florida) and Federal Session Laws
      • State (Florida) and Federal Regulations
      • County and Municipal Ordinances (Pinellas County)
      • State and Federal Court Decisions/Cases
      • State (Florida) and Federal Court Rules
      • Legal Practice Materials
      • Legal Encyclopedias, Dictionaries and Directories
      • Handbooks
      • Case Digests
      • Treatises
      • Law Reviews and Journals
      • Legal and Business Forms

The Law Library also contains older cases on microfiche and self-help materials on a variety of legal topics for litigants representing themselves. Since the materials in the library need to be available for research purposes, the collections are designated reference and do not circulate outside the respective libraries.

Electronic Research


The Law Library subscribes to the following products:

      • Shepard's Citations, a full jurisdiction case citation searching tool on the Internet for State and Federal cases.
      • Westlaw.
