Library Services and the Collection
Reference Assistance:
Law Library staff may not provide legal advice, interpret information contained in legal resources, assist in legal research or aid in the preparation of any documents. Staff willingly facilitates the location of materials referencing appropriate statutes, laws, regulations, cases and other information.
Court Forms:
The library has a number of books containing appropriate legal forms. If you desire to represent yourself (pro se) in a family law issue, Family Law forms are available for downloading at:
Florida Family law packets may be purchased at the Clerk of Court’s Self-Help Centers. The Self-Help Centers offer forms and information for most court proceedings. More information on those centers is available at:
Photo Copies:
A coin-operated photocopier provides copies for 20 cents per page. The library has bill changing machines and Venda Card services. Venda Cards cost $1.
Fax Service:
Faxes may be sent or received by the Library Staff at the cost of $2.25 for the first page and $.25 for each additional page.
Electronic Research:
The library’s public terminals provide access to the Internet and to the library’s online legal research products, including Westlaw. Wi-Fi access is provided throughout all courthouses.
Florida Bar CLE Materials:
Continuing Legal Education (CLE) materials are available on CD/DVD discs and may be checked out by Florida Bar members. Librarians will provide complete details.
Print Collections:
The Law Library contains a comprehensive print collection of legal materials pertaining to Florida Law and Federal Law. Included in the collection of legal materials are:
- Florida and Federal Statutes/Codes
- Florida Session Laws (by each Legislative session)
- Florida and Federal Regulations
- County and Municipal Ordinances (Pasco & Pinellas counties)
- Court Decisions/Cases (Florida & Federal)
- Court Rules (Florida & Federal)
- Legal Practice Materials
- Pro Se (self-representation) Handbooks
- Legal Encyclopedias and Dictionaries
- Case Digests
- Treatises
- Law Reviews and Journals
- Law Weekly Cases (Florida & Federal)
- Various Legal and Business Forms
The library also maintains older cases and self-help materials on a variety of legal topics for litigants representing themselves. Since all materials in the library need to be available for research purposes, the entire collection is designated reference and does not circulate outside the library.
